@yanfali is also far from the first person to hit that particular snag, and I'm wondering if the installer should have its button-press timing requirement relaxed a bit. (I set it at 500ms because I wanted to be sure it was a deliberate request to erase flash -- I was envisioning someone accidentally putting their installer microSD card back in without realizing it was the installer, then next time their TPi2 power-cycles, they don't get their nodes coming back up, so they frustratedly push the power button repeatedly and wipe their BMC.)
