I've tried editing the dhcpcd.conf file, with mixed results, and typically end up crippling my network connection. Is there a way to establish DNS resolution and Static IP addressing at the BMC level? Please advise ... Stephen

Hey the documentation is a bit confusing, are the nvme ssd lots supported by CM4 modules? I thought not but out side of TP2 people are using such wit their CM4s so what’s the status and why? Thanks

Probably a silly question, but the TPI2 product page has standoffs (https://turingpi.com/product/turing-pi-2/) that are rather tall, looking to purchase something similar but struggling to find a good source online to purchase something similar? How do I do it? the # prompt has me scratching my head. I know I can read/edit via vi (painful for a nano guy) if I know where a file sits, but otherwise, not having any luck looking at files, directories, etc. I typically get an error mentioning "-sh", so I'm assuming some sort of scripting environment? I can survive in a typical linux environment, but am totally confused by what I am seeing, and not seeing any documentation that explains, though, full disclosure, I've not scoured every relevant github code file.

They're alive!!! But now the questions about recovering from power outages come. Two of these nodes are also going to host Pi-hole servers. They're on an UPS but I'd prefer not to have to field questions on how to get the internet back after a power outage that last more than an hour if I happen to be put of town. Is there a way to have the BMC remember the state and have them power back up when power is restored?Does this require the RTC battery or something?

I have a Turing Pi 2 with a Nano Jetson in slot 1 and CM4s in slots 2-4,. The CM4s are running Ubuntu 23.04 and, in slot 3, there's an 8GB RAM/32GB eMMC module. My problem is that this node won't show any SATA drives that I've tested (2x12TB Arsenals and a 6TB Toshiba) as connected.

shows the eMMC (mmcblk0) and snaps mounted on loop* but my 6TB & 12TB drives won't show. Any ideas on what I should be looking at/for?

Somehow I accidentally was able to flash one board last night. Lots of failures. I an using a 3' usb cable. Mostly SDKManager stalls a 99% flashing the Jetson OS. Any ideas would be welcome to resolve this issue.

Is it possible to use an aRGB fan with some sort of controller to connect to the tp2? The aRGB fan I like (https://www.bequiet.com/en/casefans/3450) uses a 3 pin aRGB connection to the motherboard. I can’t quite figure out a compatible controller that might work - something that takes the 3 pin aRGB as input and outputs a PWM to the tp2?

I finally received my Turing Pi 2 yesterday, and the BMC was running fine along with a CM4 node. However, today it wouldn't boot. I used the BMC UART to get a serial console, which shows lots of error messages, culminating in a message stating that it's unable to mount root fs on unknown block. Note that I haven't tried to change or update the BMC firmware. Is my Turing Pi 2 somehow defective and should I do an RMA?

Hi everyone! I am working on a project involving the cooling of CM4s installed in the TuringPi2. While browsing different aftermarket coolers and finding out about the different mounting holes, plates, springs and screws. I started to wonder about the RK1-Modules: Will the aftermarket coolers from CM4, Jetson Nano/Orin/Xavier be compatible? Will it use the same mounting holes as a CM4 or one of the Jetsons? Or will the cooler design be "something special"? And if so: What are the dimensions for designing a cooler for the RK1? INHO the last option would be the least favorite one, because most users would just have the option to glue coolers to the module and being able to attach and remove the cooler if needed is preferable. Hi, I got my Turing Pi2 some days ago, and experimented a bit with it. Nice! Now I want to automate the BMC a bit more. I found several things while until I got my own BMC rootfs running. 1. /mnt/sdcard is missing from official 1.0.1, preventing updates. 2. The docs state for the BMC it is a 1G flash, but in fact it seems a only 1GBits = 128MBytes flash. What is correct? 2. There is a two partion scheme for updating ubi0_5 vs ubi0_6. So when swupdate or OTA does not work. You could do something like this (when booted from ubi0_6):

swupdate -i $PWD/turingpi-1.0.2.swu  -e stable,upgrade_ubi5
fw_setenv nand_root ubi0_5

In fact this is what the BMC webapp is doing. 3. The switch on the TPi2 is according to the docs in a "default bridge on all ports". How can I change this? I like to have VLANs on the Switch ports. Is this planned? Or better in OpenWRT is Distribute Switch Architecure driver, which makes all ports of the switch individual network devices, but the switching is offloaded to the hardware. That would be nice. 4. ADB is not working when the UBI filesystem is in readonly, eg. when it is to large. This is do to /system/bin/sh is created by the initscript as a link ot /bin/busybox. 5. The kernel is not part of the UBI image. I am a bit puzzled how the kernel is updated. As it is a small linux device, I wonder if certain features like wireguard, f2fs, proper NTFS support via NTFS-3G(needs fuse) can be included. How is the kernel updated? I guest it is in ubi0_4 but never touched by any images generated by the official sources, so far I see. What I am missing? ...

I currently have a two node cluster (node 1 and 3) and each node has two ssd's attached (node 1 has a mini pcie sata adapter). I was getting ready to install longhorn as the file system when I realized that I misread the instructions as it seems longhorn needs three nodes. Does anyone have any suggestions for a file system (besides NFS) that works with a two node cluster? Ideally I'll add two more nodes but with availability and prices being what they are I'm probably stuck with the two nodes I've got.

Hi, I’m having issues flashing my CM4s installed in node port 1+2. I have two boards, one running firmware 1.0.0 and one running 1.0.1. I can reproduce the issue on both boards. If I set the USB2 port to node 1 and power it on it fails to get recognized on my windows laptop. If I set the USB2 port to node 2 and power it on it initially fails to get recognized on my windows laptop. But if I change it to node 3 or 4 and then verify that I can see the eMMC drives in windows and then go back to setting up USB2 on node 2 it seems to work. Node 3+4 seems to work consistently. This goes for both boards. I can power off the boards and swap the CM4s that were in node port 3+4 to ports 1+2 and the same issue occurs. The CM4 are all fine when using the developer board from Raspberry Pi. I’m running windows 11 and I’m using usb a to c cable. I don’t have a usb a to a cable at the moment so I can’t test that to confirm if the issue is limited to cable type.

I ran across the app ServerCat for the Mac on the App store that does a nice job of monitoring the nodes (and BMC) along with making it easy to SSH into them (SSH is a paid feature at $5.99/year). It doesn't install anything on the TPi2 but instead uses the contents of the /proc directory. And before you ask based on the first screenshot, no it doesn't have the option yet of Celsius! Note that I have no vested interest in this product other than being a satisfied user.

On the Turing Pi there is according to the docs a switch Realtek RTL8370MB-CG. Are there any official docs how the data and control lines are connected to the Allwinner T113-S3? The used Linux 5.4 in the current firmware version has already support in the Distributed Switch Architecture (DSA) for the RTL8366 and RTL8367 switch ASICs. There are no official sources for the datasheets, but so far I found datasheets for all those ASICs in the internet, the control registers are are identical (or Realtek is expert in Cut'n'Paste 😉 ). DSA would allow breaking out every switchport as an seperate interface on linux. VLAN and switching is offloaded to the switch ASIC. The idea would be extending the network capabilites of the BMC linux. Eg you could group the Pis into two clusters on two LAN segments via VLAN for example. Many more ideas might be interessting.

I would like to share the process of how I managed to flash a Jetson TX2 NX Module using the Turing Pi 2 cluster board. The process described in the attachment failed when the module was located in slot 1, but it worked perfect in Slot 2.

I have the Node 1+2 eMMC flashing issue (3+4 work). Likewise, I had keyboard issues with the red/white Raspberry Pi keyboard (https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-keyboard-and-hub/) and when my keyboard was connected via the monitor (Dell U2412M) USB hub. However, when directly connected, Logitech K120 and a WASD keyboard worked nicely! Edit: the above is for Raspberry Pi OS (Lite, 64bit). Did not find a Keyboard working with DietPi.

Here are some rudimentary disk benchmarking results with a very limited set of disks. They cover * eMMC, * SATA SSD on node 3, * mdadm RAID-1 SATA SSD and HDD through a miniPCIe adapter on node 1/2, * mdadm RAID-1 SATA SSD and HDD through a mini PCIe adapter and 5-port multiplier on node 1/2, * mdadm RAID-1 SATA SSD through a USB to SATA adapter on node 4 If you care to expand on the number of runs, or number of drives, please do!

Hi team, Been scretching my head on this one. Node1 CM4 with 64-bit Pi OS (Lite) is running happily, but it's not recognising a 512GB mSATA SSD that's plugged into Node1's MiniPCIe slot. lspci returns nothing - and by that I mean no output at all - and lsblk just returns the mmc info (below). I didn't format the mSATA before I plugged it in, so it could well be a NTFS drive, but I would have expected it to at least show up on the bus. So I've got the board assigned to a fixed IP, place a Jetson Nano in slot 2, and Jetson TX2s in slots 1 and 3. Finally got the SDK manager running off of a USB-booted version of Linux 18.04 on my host machine and successfully installed the OS. Now I'm stuck. Every time the board reboots, the slots reset to "off". I can turn them on through the web API, but if the Nano is booting up I can't tell. So 2 things - how do I edit the board boot up instructions so that the slots are powered from the start. 2nd question, if the OS has been successfully installed on the nano in slot 2, how can I tell?
