Does anyone know if this will work? I’ve acquired a few CM4s boards with 8gb mmc. I’m guessing it should just work it’s just power I wonder about a little.

Hi, I would like to ask about the Strech Goals from Kickstarter, the I/O Shield and Case. I see the I/O Shield as a 5$ add and I dont see the Case as an option. Do I as a Kickstarter backer have to pay for the strech goals are they as a reward included in the order? I do not mind paying for them, just want to know if i need to add them to the card or not. The process for flashing a compute module (in slot 1) is mentioned in one of the turingpi.com blog posts about the TP2. The blog post includes a link to the TP1 documentation. I intend to follow these steps to flash my CM4 with emmc memory. However, it's not clear to me whether it is necessary or not to switch between flash mode and boot mode on the TP2. If yes, how do I do that? Is there a jumper like on the TP1?

Hi there. I just received my Turing Pi. It looks lovely and I'm super excited to set it up. Only I have no CM4 modules and don't know when one will become available. Just wondering what the warranty process looks like should I not be able to test my unit for a few months while I try to track down all four CM4s or RK1 processors (whenever those become available)? Now that people are getting their hands on the Turing Pi 2 -- and presumably many are testing the various CM4 clones and other boards for compatibility -- it would be nice to collect in a single place those compatibility reports. Therefore, if some board works for you, please let others know in this thread! It would also be helpful if you let everyone know the specifics of what you tested.

Hello, I just received my Turing Pi 2 board. The board is beautiful. You should know that there are no screws supplied with it (a bit complicated to find for M.2 fixings). There is also no paper documentation or USB key integrating the doc and the Drivers. But what bothers me the most is that I don't have a PWM connector for the fans? it's all over the pictures, but not on my board!? So I haven't been able to test with my Nano 4go yet. For those who have also received their TP2 card, is it the same? no PWM connector? Thank you for your reply

Not sure if this is a planned feature, if not are there any other interested in trying to design / develop a setup for PXE booting with the BMC. All kernels and installation images could be stored on a SD card so you don't need to update the firmware all the time. Anyone knows if there is some kind of systemd / openRC on the current BMC firmware? I think pretty much all those functionality could be bundled into a single binary in go which would make compilation/installation very simple to do. So in the end, you could have a "auto-install" tpi cluster.

Greetings, After a long time rest collecting dust, I have started to work on my Turing Pi V1 with seven CM3+ w/8GB eMMC. All of the Pi in the slots are functioning as expected. Now the but.....the slot #1/Master will not flash the eMMC and while the Pi in the slot only the HDMI lights up but the ethernet is not active and all of the USB keyboard ports work. I tried all of them (I might add that the documentation does not indicate the mapping between the Pis and the USB ports. I have swapped multiple CM3s that work fine in any other slot but no USB or network in slot #1. Does anyone have and idea as to what is wrong? Thanks, jt

Based upon my reading of posts elsewhere, at least three (including me) Turing Pi v2 owners intend to use this chassis. A separate forum seemed appropriate. Initially, my chassis/case will be used "open frame" for hardware experimentation and debugging. Once the board and build kinks are worked out, the glass and steel panels will be installed and software experimentation will begin.

Where are the orders shipped from? how are customs taxes are effected? i live in the EU, and i'd like to understand if the order is coming from outside the EU (and therefore subject to additional charges) or not

First, I know that the documentation said that a USB-A to USB-A cable is recommended. But I do not have such a cable, and I also do not have a laptop with USB-A. So I tried a few different USB-A to USB-C cables, two different laptops and also different USB-C ports on the laptops and also turned the USB-C plug just in case it would matter. But so far, rpiboot does not find the CM4 eMMC. I'm now start thinking the USB-A port on my TuringPi2 is not working. Has anyone an idea? Unfortunately the BMC doesn't tell me if it should work or not. It just says "ok" when switching the mode.

I have received my turing pi v2 finally and i have 2 cm4s along with the std psu from turing pi. The turing board powers up, green led at psu and the ethernet port is indicating contact ( blikning green). But there is a blinking yellow led at the first slot. I cannot fins any new ip on my network so i guess the board does not boot properly. What does the blinking yellow mean at slot #1? Anybody experienced the same problem?

Hello, I was hoping to ask the community for if they have any ideas for ways to give the turing pi 2 more GPIO. I haven't received mine yet, but more wondering for after I do receive it. I planned to have at least two of my pis dedicated to gpio for a total of 80 GPIO pins, but I somehow didn't notice this until recently, the turing pi will only have 1 GPIO header. I've seen a couple of pcie GPIO options, but I don't know how well those will work with a pi. I've also though of getting a couple of raspberry pi picos, and using my 1 GPIO header to communicate with those, and then having those handle most of the actual GPIO, but I know that would limit my bandwidth, but at least it would give me more physical pins. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Hi guys, for some weeks my turing pi arrived but it will not boot. As a PSU I use the beQuiet! Dark Power Pro 650W and as Node 1 a RPi 4. When is switch on the PSU then a green LED turns on near the ATX-Connector and a orange LED blinks at node 1. And that's it. When I press the power button of my case then nothing happens. I cannot find any help in the documentation. Could anybody help me? Thanks in advance 🙂

Finally got some CM3s for my V1. Only been waiting a couple of years since buying the V1. Everything’s lighting up except the USB Node #2 and Ethernet Node #1 (just a dim left link light). I’ve used a USB-ETH adaptor and managed some connectivity with the master, but the other 6 modules are silent. The modules are lite (no emmc) and their SD cards have been imaged with Raspi OS and unique host names. I can’t see any superfluous solder sitting on any pins as per the troubleshooting page on docs.turingpi.com and have also seen references to network problems on Reddit where the result was returning the board for a replacement. Before I embark on that process, does anyone have any clever advice?

Hi there 👋 I bought a Turing Pi 1 already over a year ago and just recently tried to set it up. Unfortunately it doesn’t work. The CM3+ can’t be reached from the network if attached to the board. The most concerning fact is that the LEDs of the RJ45/USB connector aren’t blinking when a network cable is attached. After having synced with the Turing Pi support I desoldered the old component, cleaned the PCB and soldering a replacement. Still the same effect. No connectivity. To cross-check I tested all CM3+ on an IO board independently and they work just fine. Did anyone else face this issue before? And if so, have you been able to fix it somehow?

Wondering, what kind of heatsink are you using with the CM4 and the adaptor board ? I've tried some blue eloxed ones that are somewhat fine, but I'll move to the one made by Oratek (the guys behind the Tofu baseboard)

I hit an issue where I could no longer boot any of my CM4 modules in device mode from my Mac. This was particularly annoying as I had previously booted all of them to update firmware and write the OS. Every so often one of the devices would boot past "bootcode.bin" but more often than not I would get: Failed control transfer (-7,24) Failed to write correct length, returned -7 I tried different populations of boards and boards in different slots (knowing they previously worked) - to no avail. Then I realised I had "balena etcher" still running which I was using to write the OS. I closed the app and device booting worked consistently. I now see that balena must have been probing the USB bus for new storage devices causing the boot process to work. But I though I would point this oiut in case it helps anyone.

I see that there are issues with the rtc battery slot and as I have not been able to get some CM4 devices and boot my board yet I have not hit this issue. Will we who have already received our boards as backers get the fix sent by default?

Posted on Kickstarter comments too and I was thankfully referred to this server. My Board does not seem to recognize any of the four different cm4s I have - I cannot boot sd card or connect to the cm4s in usb mode. I’m using a usb a cable and do not have a battery installed. Admittedly the CM4 boards I have are all the same and have tried using different nodes with usb mode and moving the sd card to different nodes. Also , When I open the web gui none of the boards are listed. Appreciate any types of help!
