Have a small question LoRaWan was mentioned as a use case but so we know if the Turning pi is capable of SPI over the mPCI slot or will it be the unreliable USB over mPCI

I was wondering if anyone has some black magic knowledge about getting the CM3+ modules to netboot in the Turing-Pi V1. It is casually mentioned in the documentation that it is possible, but I cant find any documentation on how to get the CM3+ modules to do this. Everything I can find seems to refer to changing OTP bit 17 using program_usb_boot_mode=1 in /boot/config.txt, but this doesnt seem to do anything for me. I am running Ubuntu, could that be it?

I asked previously and got answer that in Scandinavian countries shipping is difficult, since why there's no option for those countries in web shop delivery address section. I'd love to upgrade to Turing RK1 later, when it comes available. And most likely to purchase another Turing Pi 2 along with it. I decided to create a thread for this, that other people can voice their missing countries that where they want their orders to be shipped if possible.

there are a number of boards being released which i wonder, would they work with Turing PI 2 Sodimm factor (im not sure if Sodimm is a standard in this context) - BananaPi - BPI-RK3588 Core Board- RK3588 - upto 8GB Ram - Radxa - NX 5 - RK3588s - upto 16 GB Ram - Firefly - Core-3588J - RK3588 - upto 32GB Ram - Khadas - Edge - RK3399 - upto 4GB Ram I think the Nx5 one may have been used in prototyping just wondering if any of these boards could be used as a drop in placement, while we wait for the RK module (ps epic excited) (added) **CM4 Factor **(should hopefully be easier, as the CM4 is the standard) - Pine - SOQUARTZ - RK3566 - upto 8GB Ram if we can build up a page to know what we can use 😄

It would be nice to have access to some TP2 documentation to do some proofreading. They don't have to be finished, complete or fact-checked, would just be nice to get a head start at getting to grips with some of the functionality. I've been looking into a Power Adapter to use with the TPi 2 and the Pico PSU addon through the KS. While I know I could easily and directly use a Mean Well GST90A12 and it would directly connect to the Pico PSU, I think my power requirements overall are a little higher. I plan on adding a UHD Blu Ray Drive and probably 2 SATA HDDs to the board, which at max power draw would be significantly ahead of the 80 watts of power provided by that Power Adapter. As such I have been looking into a Mean Well GST220A12 power adapter... but it has a 4 pin DIN that can't directly connect to the Pico PSU without an adapter of it's own. I looked into those, but the max amp draw on those is about 7.5 or 8 amps... negating the benefits of a larger power adapter. That brought me to two final choices. It looks like there is an adapter that I can use from Mini-Box.com (https://www.mini-box.com/4pin-miniDIN-miniFIT-JR-adapter) or I can just get a combined 192w power adapter and the converter as a bundle from Mini-Box.com (https://www.mini-box.com/12v-16A-AC-DC-Power-Adapter). I'd prefer to get the Mean Well supply... but I can't seem to find a way to get a 4 DIN to MiniFit-JR adapter anywhere else so I can use the full potential of the Pico PSU. Does anyone have suggestions on where / what I could get to be able to use the Mean Well without having to pay like $20 with shipping for this DIN -> MiniFit adapter?

I have a few questions about when getting ready to ship the Turning Pi and possible CM4 availability. This is all based on the possibility we do get stock. - Will they be at MSRP? - Will there be limits on purchase quantity? Will we be able to purchase 4 etc.? - Will KS backers get access to the stock earlier than someone who just purchases it off of the website?

Another post already mentioned LACP support for bonding. The other important feature is LLDP, the sending of broadcasts for discovery of network devices. It also allows to automatically discover network topologies. Datacenter equipment has that all nowadays, would be lovely to have the TuringPI also support that.

I was wondering if if would be possible to network boot CM4s from a TFTP Service just line one would be able to also do with a common PI. Will that be possible?

Friends - Recently broke a few of the SO-DIMM slots on my Turing pi v1. Absolutely devastated. Thankfully the only damage was to the plastic on the slots. I tried ordering replacements but the ones I received have an extra 8 rows or so of pins. Can anyone recommend a part number so I can grab a few replacements? Side note: don’t drop yours 🙂 it landed on some CM3 modules and the force as enough to break MMC on 3 of them. Hoping a reflow fixes that up…. 🤞🍻

Hi, It looks like there's a whole bunch of x86 computer-on-modules, including with SO-DIMM connectors. If I got it right, Turing Pi 2 wants 260pin SO-DIMM, if I got Jetson specs right? Anything x86 based in the appropriately electrically compatible form factor? Bonus points for Thunderbolt. Sure, I can emulate x86 on ARM at... some... "speed". It would be neat, though, to get some Atom or similar mixed in on a Turing Pi 2 carrier board. Why? For fun, nothing else really. Is anyone aware of someone building an x86 CoM/SoM that would be electrically compatible with Turing Pi 2 / Jetson?

I'm curious to know if it will ever be possible to be used with the TuringPi2 or will we be stuck with the Nano TX2. Hi everyone, I’m building a Robot with around 20 12v servo motors. I’m considering RoboClaw 2x7A Motor Controller for each 2 motors. Having a total of 10 Controllers. (These Controllers can communicate via USB, TTL Serial, RC Radio, PWM, Analog or others like Arduino and Pi.) I want to communicate from my control station directly to my Main Processing Unit (Turing pi 2) for it to communicate somehow with RoboClaw controllers and I wonder what would be the best way to do it. I initially thought about serial communication but I would be limited by serial ports. I would appreciate the help a lot!!

Hello there 👋 Happy to join the Turing Pi community. I bought my Turing Pi 1 one year ago and only now took the time to set it up. The Raspberry Compute Modules (3+) are flashed with Hypriot OS 1.12.3, where I changed the hostnames to

pi1

through to

pi7

, I changed the timezone to

Europe/Berlin

and also added my public RSA key (4096 bit). As soon as I change back the jumper from flash to boot and connect a network cable I don’t find the Raspberry Pis on my network. My router is a FRITZ!Box 6660 Cable. I know it has DNS running on it. Might this interfere with the Avahi Daemon of Hypriot OS? I already found this article https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/158920/fritz-box-and-local-hostnames-in-the-same-network-which-do-i-really-need, but could not resolve my issue yet. According to the Turing Pi docs I should be able to SSH into the Raspberry Pis by

to discover the Raspberry Pis, but did not find them listed. Any help is appreciated.

I was trying to login with the account created previously, and the username/password is rejected. Attempting to reset the password results in the email being rejected. Please advise how to resolve this.

I have yet to receive the account creation email from the kickstarter import. However, I already have a turingpi account, but with a different email than kickstarter. My turingpi account was originally for RK1 notifications, but should I change my email to match kickstarter? Or would that create issues with the import?

Hey team, Uhhh sooooo while I was convalescing in hospital high on pain meds trying not to die, I enthusiastically backed the project on KS. A few days later I was checking up and realized I had no idea what account I logged into KS with. Thinking it was all a fever-dream (i was septic), I pledged again, thinking “bah let’s get two! “ I created a KS account and pledged gladly! Later, I realized I made my first pledge while logged in with Apple’s private relay instead of my usual email (I was in lala land remember don’t judge 😅😅😅) Is there anyway to merge the pledges on your end or do I have to talk to KS? Or do I just deal with it as is? To be clear, I want them all! I have plans for them! Just want to do the whole backer survey thing once. Best, Josh

Does Turing Machine Inc have a valid EU VAT ID? Asking because I cannot find it on generated invoice. From my knowlage any company foreign to EU, exporting goods to Europe Union needs to have a valid EU VAT ID registered.
